Chemistry Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemistry researcher to join our team and contribute to the advancement of AI systems.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Chemistry or a related field and possess strong research and analytical skills, as well as excellent written communication abilities.

The selected candidate will be responsible for creating Chemistry problems, analyzing model responses, and identifying gaps in logic or understanding. This will involve:

  • A coal gasifier operating at high temperature uses a feed of steam and air to produce synthesis gas from pure carbon. The task is to calculate the equilibrium concentration of a specific gas in the output stream at 1000 K.
  • Two elementary gas-phase reactions occur in a plug flow reactor with stoichiometric feed and known operating and coolant conditions. The task is to develop a reactor model to estimate the maximum temperature reached, assuming constant external coolant temperature.

The successful candidate will be able to provide clear, constructive feedback with examples and work independently. They will also need stable computer and internet access. Please note that this position is open only to candidates who have completed or are currently pursuing a PhD in Chemistry or a related field.

About the Position

This is a contract position requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week with 4 hours of overlap with PST. The duration of the contract is one month, and the engagement type is contractor assignment/freelancer.
