Assistant Maintenance Manager Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Maintenance Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading maintenance teams, managing budgets, and implementing energy-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Report directly to the Plant Maintenance Manager and lead a team of 100 people.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation) and Professional Certifications such as Energy Manager, Boiler Engineer, TPM Facilitator, and Six Sigma.
  • Experience: 10 Years in a large Dairy, Food, Pharma Plant In Maintenance & Utilities Management.
Nature of Experience:
  • Maintenance and operation of equipment such as Milk Processing, Evaporator & Dryer, Cheese Plant Equipment like Pasteurisers, Separators, Bactofuge, Vacuum Pumps, DSI, High Pressure Pumps, Blowers, Fluid Bed, Sifter, Cheddar Master, Cooker etc.
  • Utilities Equipments like Boiler & Steam Network, Ammonia & Freon Based Refrigeration System, Compressed Air & Nitrogen Generation System, VAM, RO & UF, Sand & Carbon Filters, Pumps, DG Sets, Transformers etc.
  • Advanced Maintenance Practices like RCA, CAPA, MTBF, MTTR, Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, Electronics Equipment Monitoring Tools & Tackles.
  • Preparation and monitoring of maintenance budget, setting and improving energy standards, identifying and executing cost and energy saving ideas.
  • Execution and achievement of plant KPIs such as Productivity, Losses & Complaint Reduction, Specific Energy Consumption, Production Lines OEE Improvement.
  • People Management: Capable of managing a team of 100 people, identifying training needs of the maintenance team, performance assessment, and inculcating a human safety culture.
  • Analytical thought process to bring new concepts in maintenance practices, energy management, setting new standards.
  • Liaisoning with government agencies like Factory, Boiler & Electrical Inspector, MSEB, Local Administration.
  • Experience in CapEx, project execution, knowledge of AI & ML application, EMS would be an added advantage.
