About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Product Lead to manage our Travel Insurance Product and Underwriting business. As a Product Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our health product offerings, including group health and group personal accident quotes/referrals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • System Requirements Gathering: Manage the process of gathering system requirements from stakeholders, including IT teams and sales personnel.
  • Underwriting Inputs: Provide critical underwriting inputs during the product development and revision process for group policies.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with operations and claims teams to ensure seamless policy inception, servicing, and claims settlement.
  • Risk Profile Development: Work closely with local sales teams to understand and develop risk profiles for group policies within set guidelines.
  • Portfolio Analysis: Analyze and review portfolios to identify areas for improvement.
Key Competencies:
  • Underwriting Skills: Possess strong underwriting skills for travel insurance, group health, and group personal accident.
  • Project Management: Ability to handle IT projects from end-to-end, including process implementation, business requirement documents, and final production sign-off.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop working relationships with key stakeholders such as IT development teams, sales, UW, claims, operations, and finance for UW product implementation projects.
  • Health Insurance Knowledge: Have knowledge of health insurance products and processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of IT systems.
  • Market Intelligence: Demonstrate good market intelligence and communication skills.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in an underwriting role in a general insurance company. A bachelor's degree is required, with a postgraduate degree being preferred.
