Job Summary

The MEP CAD Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting the design and delivery of mechanical, electrical, and public health services.

This critical position requires close collaboration with engineers, designers, and project teams to ensure coordinated, detailed, and compliant documentation that supports efficient project delivery.

  • Prepare accurate 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM).
  • Collaborate with MEP Engineers and Designers to translate design concepts into coordinated drawings.
  • Ensure drawings comply with project requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and company CAD/BIM protocols.
  • Assist in developing coordinated services drawings, clash detection, and model updates.
  • Maintain drawing registers, file management systems, and revision control.
  • Support project teams in producing tender, construction, and as-built drawings.
Key Qualifications & Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) and Revit MEP/BIM (preferred).
  • Experience in preparing MEP drawings and understanding of building services design.
  • Familiarity with British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry codes of practice.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Bonus points for experience with Navisworks, clash detection, or other BIM coordination tools.
