Job Title: Database Systems Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Database Systems Administrator to join our team.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and maintaining SQL Server database systems.
  • This includes monitoring SQL Server health, diagnosing and resolving performance issues, and implementing optimization strategies.
  • In addition, the individual will develop and implement backup and recovery procedures for SQL Server.
  • Routine data backups and testing of recovery procedures for SQL Server databases are also key responsibilities.
  • The Database Systems Administrator will also be responsible for implementing and enforcing SQL Server security policies and access controls.
  • Furthermore, they will set up and maintain high availability solutions for SQL Server, such as clustering and replication.
  • Planning and executing disaster recovery procedures for SQL Server databases is another critical task.
  • The successful candidate will also coordinate and execute data migration projects involving SQL Server.
  • Development and implementation of SQL Server database monitoring tools and alerts is an important aspect of this role.
  • Lastly, the individual will analyze and optimize SQL Server queries for improved performance.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of SQL Server database systems and procedures is essential.
  • Collaboration with software developers and IT teams to support application development, with a focus on SQL Server, is also required.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration and management.
  • Experience with backup and recovery procedures.
  • Familiarity with high availability solutions, such as clustering and replication.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery procedures.
