Job Title: Physiotherapist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our special education school team. This role is crucial in providing specialized therapeutic support to enhance the well-being and development of our pupils.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in physiotherapy, coupled with proven experience in teaching or working with individuals with diverse learning needs. We are looking for someone who demonstrates exceptional patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for children with various needs, including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and Down syndrome.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other health professionals.
  • Deliver 1:1 and group physiotherapy sessions tailored to each child's developmental level and physical needs.
  • Provide support for physical access and mobility within the school environment.
  • Monitor progress and outcomes using evidence-based tools and update care plans accordingly.
  • Support pupils with postural management programs, mobility aids, orthotics, and safe handling strategies.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, and school nurses.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings and reviews.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, risk assessments, and reports in line with professional standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years of experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or MSc) and HCPC registration.
  • Manual Handling and Safeguarding Children certifications.
  • Knowledge of conditions affecting motor development and experience with specialist equipment.
