We are seeking a skilled email security professional to lead the decommissioning of our existing Barracuda email firewall and implementing Microsoft Defender for Office 365. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with email security platforms, Microsoft 365 security tools, and a strong understanding of secure email gateway configurations and migrations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing the retirement of the Barracuda email security firewall, deploying and configuring Microsoft Defender for Office 365 features, including anti-phishing, anti-malware, and threat investigation tools.

A key aspect of this role is ensuring a seamless transition with minimal business disruption, documenting the migration process, and providing technical knowledge transfer to internal teams.

This position requires collaboration with IT and security teams to align configurations with organizational policies, as well as troubleshooting issues related to mail flow, filtering, and user access during and after the migration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute the retirement of the Barracuda email security firewall.
  • Deploy and configure Microsoft Defender for Office 365 features, including anti-phishing, anti-malware, and threat investigation tools.
  • Ensure a smooth transition with minimal business disruption.
  • Document the migration process and provide technical knowledge transfer to internal teams.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to mail flow, filtering, and user access during and after the migration.
Requirements
  • Proven experience with Barracuda Email Security Gateway and Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Exchange Online Protection (EOP).
  • Familiarity with secure email protocols, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, and threat detection tools.
  • Experience managing or supporting email migration projects.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
Benefits

This is a remote position with a contract duration of 6 months. There is an option to renew the contract.

The ideal candidate will be working in a fully remote environment.
