We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Portfolio Governance Lead – Financial Services at HSBC.



As a key member of the MSS Central Transformation PMO function, you will be responsible for managing central governance activities across the CTB portfolio and supporting the Head of Programme Office to define and embed a Center of Excellence construct for PMO resources.



About the Role

The Execution Oversight Lead will execute core governance oversight activities, including milestone, status, and RAID management. You will support the Head of Programme Office in building out the PMO Center of Excellence and manage reporting inputs to governance forums, including MSS ExCo, Execution Board, and Group.



You will own external stakeholder engagement, including Group, ORR, NFR, Audit, and 2LoD functions. Additionally, you will maintain oversight of the portfolio MSII Roadmap and drive MSIIs to closure, while ensuring adherence to Change Framework standards and aligning with MSS Ways of Working.



Key Responsibilities


  • Support development and build-out of a PMO Center of Excellence construct through the implementation of best practice standards, processes, and guidance across the portfolio.
  • Monitor and report progress of all change initiatives across regulatory, mandatory, and strategic change initiatives across the CTB portfolio, including outcomes, RAIDs, and statuses.
  • Set and manage the portfolio baseline and assess impact of movement throughout the year.
  • Implement improved risk, issue, and dependency oversight, adopting a proactive forward-looking approach to RAID management.
  • Collaborate with global MSS business sponsors, execution owners, and functional leads to maintain key measures of accountability to drive change programmes to completion.
  • Undertake delivery assurance activities, including post-implementation delivery reviews.
  • Develop a centralized hub for project management best practices, standards, and tools.
  • Engage with programme leads to define inputs and content for MSS Governance forums, including MSS Execution Board, MSS ExCo, CPOC, etc.
  • Partner with Group, Audit, and 2LoD to ensure all standards are met across the portfolio, including closure of specific MSIIs within agreed timeframes.
  • Review Change Framework updates disseminated by Group Transformation, interpret these updates, and refine MSS Ways of Working to maintain adherence.
