APIGEE Infrastructure Specialist Role

The APIGEE Infrastructure Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the APIGEE platform. This position is crucial in supporting the organization's API platform and ensuring smooth operations for developers, partners, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain the APIGEE infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of the APIGEE platform and identify areas for improvement.
  • Access Control and Permissions: Manage access control and permissions within the APIGEE environment to ensure secure and controlled access.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge: Possess comprehensive knowledge of Apigee OPDK infrastructure components and setup procedures.
  • Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in AWS services such as EKS, EC2, S3, ALB, NLB, EBS volumes, and AMI recycling.
  • Linux Administration: Extensive experience in Linux administration and management.
  • Containerized Applications: Expertise in creating and managing services within AWS EKS, including pod deployments and vulnerability management.
  • Orchestrating Applications: Proficient in orchestrating containerized applications with Kubernetes, focusing on deployment, scaling, and maintenance within a microservices architecture.
  • Apigee Hybrid and GCP: Exposure to Apigee Hybrid with a foundational understanding of GCP.
  • Components and Tools: Familiarity with components such as RMP, Cassandra, Zookeeper, Postgres, and QPid.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, including regular engagement with onshore teams.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Proficiency in Ansible scripting for infrastructure automation.
  • API Integration and Troubleshooting: Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of APIs and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement backup and recovery processes for the APIGEE platform.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Document infrastructure configurations and processes, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.
  • APIGEE Best Practices: Stay updated with APIGEE best practices and implement improvements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as an APIGEE administrator.
  • API Management: Strong understanding of API management and gateway concepts.
  • Scripting and Certifications: Proficiency in Python scripting is advantageous, and certifications in GCP are beneficial.
  • Real-Time Application Infrastructure: Experience with real-time application infrastructure debugging using GitOps frameworks like Flux and Helm.
  • Java and Scripting: Basic knowledge of Java coding is a plus, and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is required.
  • Infrastructure Management and Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in infrastructure management and configuration, knowledge of cloud platforms, and containerization technologies.
  • Troubleshooting and Communication: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
  • Certifications and Networking: Certifications in APIGEE or relevant technologies are a plus, and a good understanding of networking and security concepts.
  • DevOps Environment: Previous experience in a DevOps environment is advantageous.
