Job Title

A leading multinational IT services and consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled SCADA Engineer to join their team. This individual will be responsible for designing, configuring, and deploying Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADAs, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity. They will also have experience with database technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead design configuration and deployment of Ignition SCADA and MES applications
  • Architect and implement real-time data acquisition visualization and reporting solutions
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems
  • Develop and maintain secure efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols
  • Manage industrial databases, including SQL historian and timeseries databases, for high availability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs
  • Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0 and predictive analytics
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADA/MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team

Requirements:

  • Strong background in industrial automation, SCADA, MES, and IoT
  • Proficiency with database technologies, including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent
  • Experience with OT/IT integration technologies, including REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADAs, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms, such as Azure IoT and AWS IoT
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments
  • Familiarity with containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Certifications in Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications
