This role is part of WPP IT, which provides IT services for our organization. We are seeking an experienced Test Automation Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years of recent experience in test automation, quality assurance, and software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
Key responsibilities will include designing, architecting, developing, testing, deploying, and troubleshooting test infrastructure and test automation suites for our applications.
Other tasks will involve designing, developing, and maintaining automation systems and tools used by development and test engineers.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for building and improving software and tools by translating requirements and problems into robust, scalable, and supportable test solutions.
Additionally, they will develop and execute software test plans to identify software problems and their causes, analyze business requirements, and assess their quality to ensure they are cohesive, comprehensive, concise, clear, and correct.
The candidate will work closely with team members on requirement analysis and reviews to ensure 100% test coverage and develop manual/automated test procedures for software features, database impacts, regression testing, and negative testing.
They will design and author test cases for unit, functional, performance, scalability, and durability testing and participate in various scrum meetings to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, estimates, or potential problems.
The successful candidate will review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks, identify defects and issues, log, track, report, and verify resolved items.
They will ensure testing commitments are met and clearly communicate potential impacts to schedule to the team and maintain test cases, test plans, and manage them with changing requirements.
This role requires collaboration with a cross-functional team including development, QA, implementation, documentation, support, and sales.
The ideal candidate will support the product through its full life cycle of design, code, test, and maintenance, assist in assessing product quality and release readiness, and lead and mentor junior QA team members.
The key qualifications for this role include education in computer science, information technology, or comparable fields, as well as relevant experience in test automation, quality assurance, and software development life cycle processes.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential for this position.
