About the Role

As a key member of our QA team at Gen, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality web application software. Your primary responsibility will be automated (mostly) and sometimes manual end-to-end testing of web applications for www.nortonlifelock.com. You will work closely with our development teams to resolve problems, ensuring our software releases are reliable, scalable, and stable.

What You Will Do in This Role

  • Automate testing of websites on the Adobe AEM platform.
  • Test websites across different devices using exploratory techniques.
  • Design, build, execute, and document automated tests.
  • Write automation and performance tests in various scripting languages.
  • Perform planned and ad-hoc manual testing as needed.
  • Identify and automate appropriate test cases using tools and QA frameworks.
  • Participate in meetings and reviews with customers and team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather testing requirements.
  • Investigate bugs using application and server logs, browser developer tools, databases, and other tools.
  • Support deployments and maintenance activities.

What You'll Need to be Successful in this Role

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience or a master's degree in computer science or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • 3 years of hands-on programming and automation testing experience.
  • Experience with automation testing and content management systems, with AEM being a plus.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Cucumber, Robotium, JMeter.
  • Understanding of web applications, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, HTTP protocol, REST API, cookies/sessions, and browser differences.
  • Experience with QA testing customer-facing web applications.
  • Experience with accessibility, security, performance, and automated testing.
  • Strong general QA skills, including test plan creation, test case development, defect analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with unit testing, regression, smoke testing, and end-to-end testing.
  • Excellent knowledge of formal SDLC and QA methodologies.
  • Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and mobile device testing.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Jenkins, Git, Stash, Perforce, Confluence, Nexus, and DevOps processes and CI/CD tools.
  • Ability to learn new skills, tackle new challenges, and work independently or with minimal supervision.
