Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Radiology Medical Coder to join our team. The successful candidate will review and analyze radiology reports, assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, and ensure coding compliance in accordance with industry guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have experience in radiology coding, be up-to-date with coding guidelines, NCCI edits, and regulatory changes, and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Coding: Review and analyze radiology reports to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
  • Coding Compliance: Ensure coding compliance in accordance with ACR, CMS, and payer guidelines.
  • Coding Modalities: Code a variety of radiology modalities including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation oncology.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with radiologists, billing staff, and auditors to resolve coding discrepancies.
  • Staying Current: Stay updated with coding guidelines, NCCI edits, and regulatory changes.
  • Productivity and Accuracy: Meet daily productivity and accuracy benchmarks as established by the department.
  • Auditing: Assist in internal and external audits as needed.
Requirements:
  • Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience in radiology coding (IR preferred)
  • Mandatory Skills: MIPS Coding is Mandatory
  • Coding Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes
  • Payer Rules: Familiarity with payer-specific rules and LCD/NCD policies
