Science Industry Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Science Industry Development Specialist to join our team at JoVE. As a rapidly growing company with a strong presence in the USA, UK, Australia, and India, we provide cutting-edge science video solutions to over 60 countries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping researchers and faculty members at international universities and research centers integrate our content into their syllabi and support training and research activities via JoVE resources.

This role requires a deep understanding of laboratory settings and extensive knowledge of education and research trends and challenges in assigned content areas, such as Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, Physics, Engineering, or Psychology. The ideal candidate will have excellent English communication skills, previous experience in teaching, science communications, or customer-facing roles, and demonstrated ability to deliver excellent presentations for large and small groups.

About the Role:

  • Customer-facing role with a focus on outreach to Researchers and Educators to boost usage of JoVE resources in the Lab and classroom;
  • Delivering presentations and webinars at: exhibits and conferences, University/Research center seminars and workshops;
  • Developing relationships with key decision makers (Head of Departments, Dean of Faculties, PIs, Researchers...) and teaching/research staff at Universities and Research Institutes through daily outreach (phone calls, 1:1 meetings, emails, tailored projects etc);
  • Providing customer feedback to sales, product and marketing teams;
  • Maintaining positive ongoing relationships with customer institutes during the sales cycle, and after a sale to provide support and ensure client satisfaction and retention;

About You:

  • A Masters or PhD Degree in STEM (Biology and Chemistry preferred);
  • Experience/familiarity with laboratory settings is required;
  • Previous experience in teaching, science communications or customer-facing roles are preferred;
  • Extensive knowledge of education and research trends and challenges in assigned content areas i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, Physics, Engineering, or Psychology;
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent presentations for large and small groups;
  • Experience in networking with scientists and decision-makers via cold calling;
  • Experience in public speaking and creating engaging presentations for teachers, researchers, librarians, and decision-makers;
  • Excellent English communication skills (native or full working proficiency);
