As a senior cost estimator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and comprehensive capital cost estimates for various construction projects. Your expertise in building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements will be instrumental in advising stakeholders on the best course of action.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed capital cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Provide expert advice on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract management.
  • Draft contract packages, including amendments to standard forms, and offer guidance on their implementation.
  • Develop pricing documents for tender packages and ensure their accuracy.
  • Advise on tendering procedures and draft instructions to tenderers.
  • Establish tender evaluation criteria and draft PQQ questionnaires.
  • Conduct commercial evaluations of tender submissions and negotiate with tenderers.
  • Ascertain amounts due to contractors for price variations and determine the validity of claims.
  • Prepare and submit monthly Cost Reports, ensuring timely and accurate information.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field (5-10 years' experience).
  • Strong understanding of QS & cost management processes, including quantification from drawings.
  • Chartered QS certification under a recognized organization (RICS, SCSI, AIQS, NZIQS).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic IT literacy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Aptitude to coordinate with global teams across multiple offices.
  • Self-motivated, organized individual with attention to detail and ability to work independently.
