SAP Basis Consultant Job Description

As a SAP Basis Consultant, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining SAP systems, including installation, configuration, and upgrades of SAP environments (SAP S/4HANA and HANA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Monitoring: Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring optimal performance and high availability of SAP applications.
  • Migration Activities: Execute and support migration activities using tools like SUM (Software Update Manager), DMO (Database Migration Option), and SWPM (Software Provisioning Manager).
  • Database Management: Perform database administration tasks, including backups, restores, and performance tuning to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Table Splitting & Management: Experience with table splitting, DISTMON (Distribution Monitor), and other tools for efficient system management and performance optimization.
  • System Upgrades: Lead system upgrade projects, ensuring compliance with SAP standards and best practices.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SAP Basis issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents promptly.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in SAP Basis/HANA Administration.
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA configurations and migrations.
  • Strong knowledge of SUM, DMO, SWPM, and other SAP tools.
  • Experience with performance tuning, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in SAP Basis consulting or a similar role.
