Senior BigQuery Data Engineer

The ideal candidate will define and drive the technical architecture for migrating Azure SQL databases to Google BigQuery, integrating Looker as the enterprise Business Intelligence platform.
Key Responsibilities:- Design an end-to-end GBQ migration framework with optimized schema, data ingestion patterns, and query performance.
- Develop ELT patterns using Cloud Data Fusion, SQL, Python, and other GCP-native services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex data challenges and develop scalable data models.
- Lead code reviews, implement IAM-based governance, logging, and monitoring best practices.
- Act as a liaison between architects and delivery teams, aligning sprint deliverables with project milestones.
- Mentor engineers and analysts in adopting engineering and LookML best practices.
- At least 10 years of experience in Data Engineering, with 3+ years on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) BigQuery.
- Proven expertise in migrating large-scale databases from Azure SQL or equivalent to GBQ.
- Strong knowledge of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) patterns, partitioning, clustering, and optimization techniques in BigQuery.
- Advanced skills in SQL, Python, and Cloud Data Fusion.
- Familiarity with LookML and Business Intelligence integration workflows.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.
