**Job Overview**

The role of Merchandise Planning Specialist is crucial in creating optimal merchandise assortment plans that align with sales targets. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing merchandise assortment plans for all stores, ensuring alignment with sales targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create buying plans for assigned categories, including option plans and depth analysis.
  • Establish Average Retail Price (ARP) targets for product categories, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Formulate Stock to Sale plans for the season, taking into account EOM and BOM requirements.
  • Calculate Open to Buy (OTB) to ensure optimal inventory levels, minimizing stockouts and overstocking.

Monthly Target Setting & Performance Analysis:

  • Contribute to setting monthly targets by breaking them down into product categories, providing actionable insights for business improvement.
  • Track target versus achievement metrics regularly, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Prepare merchandise plan reports and analyze product performance at a Look-to-Look (Lk2Lk) level, informing data-driven decisions.

Inventory Management & Tracking:

  • Ensure ideal stock cover is maintained for each product category, balancing supply and demand.
  • Monitor and manage dormancy and pullback within defined norms, optimizing inventory turnover.
  • Generate weekly sell-through reports and photo sell-through reports for sales tracking, providing visibility into key performance indicators.

Stock & Sale Planning:

  • Develop product category-wise dispatch plans, monitoring planned vs actual dispatches.
  • Allocate resources effectively, based on dispatch plans and size-wise analysis, to meet customer demands.
  • Track allocation against actual dispatches to ensure accuracy, maintaining high service levels.

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis:

  • Stay up-to-date on new launches, competitor products, windows, and schemes, informing strategic decisions.
  • Conduct competition mapping to inform merchandise strategies, staying ahead of the competition.
  • Support training initiatives related to merchandise, product, and visual merchandising (VM), enhancing team capabilities.

Core Business Contribution Monitoring:

  • Monitor and analyze category contribution percentage to overall business on a Look-to-Look basis, identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Recommend new designs for addition to the category, driving innovation and business expansion.

Retail Design Brief Creation:

  • Assist in creating retail design briefs for option grids, incorporating learnings from past seasons.

Integrated Go To Market (IGTM) Planning:

  • Collaborate with VM and design teams for successful IGTM planning, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Coordinate dressing up key stores and rollout of IGTM initiatives across multiple stores, driving business results.

Space Planning Integration:

  • Work closely with retail planners to monitor returns and performance from allocated retail space, optimizing store layouts.
