About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Transcription Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare support staff, you will be responsible for transcribing voice recordings into accurate, written medical reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transcription of Medical Dictations: Listen to audio instructions of medical notes, consultations, discharge summaries, operative reports, etc., and type them into clear, accurate reports.
  • Editing & Proofreading: Review and correct grammar, spelling, and medical terminology errors in the transcribed reports.
  • Understanding Medical Terminology: Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments.
  • Maintaining Confidentiality: Handle patient records with strict confidentiality as per healthcare data protection guidelines.
  • Use of Technology: Work with transcription software, speech recognition tools, and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Formatting Reports: Ensure documents meet hospital/clinic formatting and style requirements.
  • Collaboration: Communicate with doctors or healthcare providers for clarification when needed.
  • Timely Delivery: Produce error-free reports within strict deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong Listening Skills: Attention to detail is crucial for accurate transcription.
  • Proficiency in Medical Terminology: Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations is essential.
  • Fast and Accurate Typing: Quick typing skills are required to meet deadlines.
  • Good Grammar and Editing Ability: Strong grammar, punctuation, and editing skills are necessary for error-free reports.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Documentation Standards: Familiarity with healthcare documentation standards is required.
  • Familiarity with Medical Transcription Software and EHR Systems: Experience with medical transcription software and EHR systems is highly preferred.
  • Ability to Work Independently: High concentration and self-motivation are essential for working independently.
