Job Summary

As a Petrochemical Process Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting manufacturing operations to achieve performance targets. This includes leading technology inputs into root cause analysis of complex process/engineering issues, defining improvements and upgrades in existing processes/equipment/technologies, and identifying, justifying, and prioritizing plant improvements for PIOs, CAPEX, REVAMP projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support manufacturing operations to achieve performance targets.
  2. Lead technology inputs into root cause analysis of complex process/engineering issues.
  3. Define improvements and upgrades in existing processes/equipment/technologies.
  4. Identify, justify, and prioritize plant improvements for PIOs, CAPEX, REVAMP projects.
  5. Review process-engineering documents as part of Basic Engineering and Detail Engineering.
  6. Evaluate external technologies for improvement schemes as well as for new plants.
  7. Review of Process Design Package of Technology Licensors.
  8. Prepare Design Basis documents and Process Design Packages for in-house developed/conceptualized improvement schemes.
  9. Participate in PHA reviews (HAZID/HAZOP).
  10. Evaluate vendor technical proposals including cost-benefit analysis.
  11. Review vendor documents post order.
  12. Prepare/Review Operation Manuals, SOPs, and SOCs.
  13. Catalyst/chemicals/additives/fuels evaluation.
  14. Audit and benchmark plant/product/energy performance.
  15. Ensure achievement of set milestones for pilot/scale-up studied.
  16. Anticipate constraints/trends in technology and product application range and review/recommend alternatives for implementation.
  17. Participate in commercial plant trial.
  18. Develop, validate, customize, and maintain simulation/APC models.
  19. Prepare final technology comparison reports.
  20. Participate in PSM activities.
  21. Coach/mentor and support the on-boarding and development of the GETs (technology).
Requirements

This role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering with relevant industrial experience (8-12 years) with good technical background and good communication skills. Reliance Certified Chemical Engineer (RCCE) certification will be an added advantage. A combination of experience in Operation and Technology (either CTS and/or Technology CoE) is desirable.
