Backend Software Engineer

About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Node.js and/or Python, with expertise in building robust, scalable backend services and APIs that power web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and/or Python.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices and design patterns.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and ensure seamless interactions.
  • Manage database schema design, queries, and data migrations (SQL and NoSQL) to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Implement security and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex backend issues efficiently.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in backend development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Node.js and/or Python backend frameworks (Express, FastAPI, Django, Flask).
  • Good understanding of RESTful API design principles and architecture.
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and agile development methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of containerization (Docker) is a plus.
  • Understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
