Automated Test Engineer Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Automated Test Engineer Lead to spearhead the development and execution of automated test scripts using Playwright. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining these scripts, as well as mentoring and growing other QA engineers.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience managing and mentoring a team of QA engineers, with a strong background in testing frameworks, programming languages, API testing, version control, CI/CD, test reporting, and database management. Additionally, they will possess high standards for quality and ownership, with a strong manual testing skill set and QA fundamentals.

This role requires excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience working at a startup is preferred, and candidates with experience in automating AI-heavy applications would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright
  • Lead, mentor, and grow other QA engineers
  • Perform manual and exploratory testing for web applications
  • Review/Create and execute detailed test cases and scenarios
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle
  • Identify product/development gaps and escalate to respective teams
  • Conduct both UI and API testing
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline maintenance and improvement
  • Create and maintain test documentation
  • Report and track bugs using JIRA

Technical Skills Required:

  • Testing Frameworks: Experience with Playwright or similar modern testing frameworks (Cypress, Selenium)
  • Programming Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript
  • API Testing: Experience with REST API testing
  • Version Control: Git
  • CI/CD: Experience with GitHub/GitLab/Jenkins
  • Test Reporting: Knowledge of Allure reporting or similar
  • Database: Basic understanding of MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases

Additional Skills That Would Be Beneficial:

  • Candidates with experience in automating AI-heavy applications would be preferred.
