Database Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect to manage and optimize our cloud-based data infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance database solutions using AWS OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, in-memory databases (e.g., Redis, Memcached), and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j).

  • You will lead the development of data models, schema designs, and indexing strategies to ensure optimal query performance and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for critical production systems.
  • With your expertise in distributed systems, caching, and graph traversals, you will optimize data distribution, sharding, and caching for efficient query performance.
  • Collaborating with our SREs and developers, you will design and implement automated administrative tasks to ensure correctness and document data standards, procedures, and dictionary definitions.
Requirements and Skills:
  • 5+ years managing large-scale AWS OpenSearch or Elasticsearch deployments.
  • 2+ years managing in-memory databases (e.g., Redis, Memcached) or graph databases (e.g., Neo4j).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing critical production systems impacting revenue.
  • Expertise in data and index shard management, caching strategies, and node-relationship modeling.
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS services (e.g., OpenSearch Service, EC2, ElastiCache, CloudWatch).
  • Proficient in Elasticsearch/OpenSearch APIs, query DSL, and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with in-memory databases (e.g., Redis, Memcached) or graph databases (e.g., Neo4j Cypher).
Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for distributed systems.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to new tools and processes.
