We are seeking a skilled Protocol Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing software for the Lightspan family, ensuring it meets required standards.
- Apply expertise in IP-based networks and Layer 2/Layer 2+ protocols to develop software.
- Leverage customer feedback to continually refine and enhance product features.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, product management, and customer support.
- Design both manual and automated tests to improve test coverage and accelerate bug resolution.
- Deepen expertise in L2 & L2+ protocols such as Ethernet, VLAN, QoS, IGMP, and stay updated with emerging network technologies.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in an engineering stream with 8+ years of experience in L2 & L2+ protocol development.
- Advanced programming skills in C or C++, with expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and the design and development of complex software systems.
- Experience with products like xDSL, GPON, and IPDSLAM, aligning well with the product line.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to address complex issues in both software and hardware.
The following skills would be beneficial:
- Understanding of network configuration protocols like NetConf and YANG.
- A commitment to maintaining high-quality standards across all stages of the product lifecycle.
