Senior Medical Content Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Content Specialist who will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of medical and scientific documents. This role involves working closely with medical writers and subject matter experts to produce clear, consistent, and compliant content for publication or regulatory submission.
Responsibilities:
- Editing and Reviewing:
- Review and edit medical writing deliverables such as research articles, review articles, case reports, editorials, perspectives, short communications, abstracts, posters, oral presentations, visual abstracts, publication cards (static/interactive/video), publication summaries, and publication extenders.
- Edit and proofread documents including medical manuscripts, scientific slide decks, journal articles, regulatory documents, and educational materials for scientific accuracy, clarity, grammar, and consistency.
- Check language, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and maintain consistency of language (tense) and adherence to brand style/client guidelines.
- Facts check medical terminology, data, and references for accuracy and integrity.
- Type Setting Checks:
- Evaluate correctness of font and symbols, text and image clarity/visibility, maintaining aesthetics (alignment, layout, consistency) of the deliverable, uniformity in formatting and spacing.
- Format documents, references, tables, and figures according to specified guidelines.
- Quality Assurance:
- Deliver high-quality edits that exceed client expectations, performing basic functionality and link checks, and proofreading all adaptations to ensure all comments are addressed.
- Oversight on manuscript submission to journals, ensuring all submission requirements are met.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in medical and/or scientific editing within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Tools & Skills:
- Literature searches (NCBI, Cochrane, EMBASE, EudraCT, MEDLINE, PUBMED).
- Systematic review tools (e.g., EndNote, ZOTERO, Mendeley, Covidence, Rayyan, DistillerSR, RevMan).
- Project management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams (medical affairs, marketing).
- Attention to detail with strong focus on scientific accuracy and compliance.
- Excellent knowledge of English language (spoken and written).
Good to Have:
- Proven track record of creating/editing high-quality publications.
- Statistical analysis knowledge.
- Basic understanding of graphic tools.
- Certification in medical writing, pharmaceutical communications, Gen AI.
- Familiarity with HTA, EMA, FDA, NICE, and WHO evidence requirements.
- Statistical software experience (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS, Prism).
- Worked with VEEVA PromoMats, Datavision, or similar reviewing platform.
- Demonstrated ability to work with tight timelines and collaborative environment.
- Self-motivated and process-driven individual able to deal with rapid change in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
