The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, customizing, and maintaining high-performance WordPress websites and Shopify stores. They will work on optimizing website speed, ensuring strong optimization and functionality, and contributing to the overall growth of our business.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress and Shopify themes and plugins/apps using PHP and Liquid code.
- Troubleshoot, test, and maintain core product software and databases to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Ensure high availability, managing all technical aspects of WordPress and Shopify CMS.
- Conduct thorough website performance tests and monitor the performance of live websites on both platforms.
- Manage hosting environments, ensuring secure and efficient setups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless website design and functionality across WordPress and Shopify.
Key Requirements:
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience as a WordPress and Shopify Developer.
- Strong proficiency in WordPress and Shopify, including theme integration, plugin/app development, and WooCommerce.
- In-depth knowledge of front-end technologies like CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery.
- Familiarity with responsive web design principles and basic understanding of cross-browser compatibility techniques.
- Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
- Ability to create and customize themes, plugins, and Shopify apps; experience with Visual Page Builders is an asset.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and strong understanding of web and e-commerce application development.
- Familiarity with at least one PHP framework (e.g., YII, Laravel, CodeIgniter) is a plus.
- Knowledge of other PHP CMS platforms like Magento, Joomla, and CakePHP is an asset.
- Understanding of Liquid template language, experience with Shopify API and app integrations, and familiarity with Shopify's online store 2.0 capabilities is an added advantage.
- Previous experience with both WordPress and Shopify is highly preferred.
