Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing ETL products, specifically Talend/Informatica 9.x or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), and PL/SQL.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our deliverables, including test strategies, test plans, and test cases. They will also work closely with our development team to ensure timely and effective testing efforts.
- Experience in testing ETL products, especially Talend/Informatica 9.x or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and PL/SQL
- Financial domain knowledge is required
- Good understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts, such as star schemas, snowflakes, dimensions, facts
- Strong SQL skills are essential
- Responsible for ensuring all sign offs on deliverables and that testing meets governance requirements
- Ensure quality of work for the entire development team
- Create test cases/test data and perform Test execution
- Review Data Mappings, Architectural Documentation to create/execute effective Test Plans and test cases
- Validate data by running queries in the database and verify results match expectations
- Analyze and troubleshoot erroneous results, determine root cause of defects, log defects in tracking system and enable defect management, working with development team on resolution of software related defects
- Hands-on experience with automation testing is preferred
- Work closely with software development team to ensure timely and effective testing effort
- Write queries to extract data for test case data comparison, and test automation(Python/Java)
- Solid understanding of databases and systems and ability to communicate effectively across groups
- Flexible in thought and creative in approach to testing
- Self-starter with ability to work on complex projects and analyze business requirements independently
- Able to identify and document testing issues and quality risks, participate in defect remediation
- Will follow Agile Testing practices and guidelines
- Active participation in all test management activities like assessment, test strategies and test plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
