Job Overview

This role involves working as a data analyst to support the editorial team with market intelligence and data visualization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics, finance, or accounting, and be comfortable using Microsoft Office.

Main Responsibilities

  • EU Private Equity Round-up: The primary responsibility is to compile a weekly round-up of private equity deals and auction situations involving private equity houses over the last week. This involves browsing one week's intel, selecting relevant stories related to PE and active processes, categorizing them into new, current, and small situations, and drafting short introductions referring to relevant intel.
  • US Deal Pipeline: The candidate will also be responsible for compiling a weekly report on market intelligence from the week prior on auction processes that have been active over the last six months, as well as identifying late-stage origination.
  • Data Requests: Additionally, the successful candidate will support the editorial team with data and visual requests to support trends, pulling data from Designer, building charts, and identifying main data trends.

Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Reports:

  • M&A Overview: Provide a comprehensive analysis of M&A within a specific region or sector, highlighting key deals and trends.
  • Data Analysis: Examine large amounts of datasets and interpret them in the context of the broader macroeconomic environment.
  • Data Visualization: Transform datasets into clear, insightful charts and graphs.

Requirements:

  • Economics/Accounting/Finance/M&A Research background
  • Comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite
  • A self-starter attitude with a cooperative approach
  • An investigative mind and attention to detail
  • An interest in financial markets and macro events
  • Excellent time management and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with PowerBI
  • Background/Interest in M&A
