GIS Developer Role

We are seeking a skilled GIS developer to join our team. In this role, you will design and develop custom GIS applications and web-based mapping solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop geospatial workflows and tools.
  • Integrate GIS applications with various enterprise systems and APIs.
  • Develop scripts and tools for data automation, analysis and processing using Python and ArcPy.
  • Maintain and optimize spatial databases such as PostGIS and SQL Server with spatial extensions.
  • Create interactive maps, dashboards and visualizations using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS or Mapbox.
  • Conduct performance tuning, testing and documentation of GIS solutions.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for GIS-related issues and enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in GIS development.
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience working with VertiGIS Studio Suite and ESRI Experience Builder.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript or .NET for GIS applications.
    • Experience with spatial databases such as PostGIS, SQL Server and Oracle Spatial.
    • Hands-on experience with FME, GDAL or other ETL/data transformation tools.
    • Knowledge of web development frameworks and APIs including REST/SOAP.
    • Experience integrating GIS with other enterprise systems such as ERP and CRM.
    • Familiarity with open-source GIS platforms such as QGIS, GeoServer and MapServer is a plus.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in GIS such as Esri Technical Certification.
  • Experience working with cloud GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS/Azure.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
