Job Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting geoscience data, building geological models, and generating multiple development scenarios. The role requires expertise in integrated interpretation of geo-science data, volumetric estimation, quality control, and cross-functional communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze stratigraphic/coal seam correlations, structural interpretation, and quality control of various geological & seam parameter maps.
- Build static geo-cellular models incorporating available data of the field.
- Perform volumetric estimation in multiple cases capturing the range of uncertainties.
- Quality control of map-based & model-based OGIIP estimations.
- Generate alternate development scenarios with respect to well type, spacing, etc.
- Review geological prognosis and well trajectories for development drilling.
- Support Ops Geology team during geo-steering/drilling operations and provide operational decisions as required.
- Provide technical inputs for business development plans.
- Responsible for planning and acquiring geological data to bridge data gaps and reduce uncertainty through enhanced field understanding.
- Support pre- and post-drill geo-mechanical analysis.
- Support RE team during dynamic simulation.
- Quality control of onsite & lab measurements on cores for coal characterization.
- Evaluate CBM data packages from regulatory bodies or prospective sellers for block acquisition/farming-in.
- Review and quality control of subsurface deliverables from third-party/SME studies.
- Generate integrated subsurface descriptions and risk/uncertainty matrices.
- Responsible for cross-functional communications with Projects, FC&A, P&C, D&C, etc., for all planning and execution related to Operations and Development.
- Review scope of works and technical evaluation/recommendation for procuring materials/services of Sub-surface.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Geology (M.Sc / M.Tech) or PhD in Geology.
A minimum of 8-12 years of relevant experience in the industry working on interpretation, geo-modelling, well planning, and operations.
