Data Engineering Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Specialist to collaborate with our team of software, data, and DevOps engineers. Our clients are ambitious companies creating innovative products in uncharted markets.

This role involves working closely with clients to modernize their data infrastructure, architecture, and pipelines. You will be the primary point of contact for our clients, guiding them on process and technical matters, and providing thought leadership on process and technical matters.

The ideal candidate will have experience in consulting or contracting capacity in large data management and modernization programs, with proficiency in SQL Servers, data engineering on platforms like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Synapse. Strong knowledge of Delta Lake and Lakehouse Architecture is also required.

Beyond these key skills, we are looking for someone who can mentor and educate client teams on the latest approaches, tools, and skills. A strong problem-solving skillset, along with expertise in securing Azure environments using RBAC, Key Vault, and Azure Security Center, is a must.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop cloud-first strategies for core data initiatives
  • Provide thought leadership on process and technical matters
  • Act as a trusted advisor on Data Engineering to our clients
  • Design, develop, deploy, and support the transformation of our client's end-to-end data strategy
  • Mentor and educate client teams on the latest approaches, tools, and skills
Requirements:
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate or Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification
  • Experience in consulting or contracting capacity in large data management and modernization programs
  • Proficiency in SQL Servers, data engineering on platforms like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Synapse
  • Strong knowledge of Delta Lake and Lakehouse Architecture
  • Expertise in securing Azure environments using RBAC, Key Vault, and Azure Security Center
  • Extensive experience with Kafka and Spark in production environments
  • Strong DBA experience in MS SQL environments deployed in Azure
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Scala, Python, Linux administration, networking, and scripting skills
