Position Purpose

This role will report to the Development Lead in the Workflow Centre of Excellence group, responsible for delivering Business Process Management functionality to internal clients and external customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coding, designing, and unit testing of Sonata Process models to develop and maintain them based on client requirements, following agile SDLC practices and working closely with Workflow Consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop workflows using Sonata Workflow scripting language, HTML, and web service functionality.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like JavaScript and VBScript is desirable, with Angular 2.0 being an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of popular BPM tools like IBM's BPM and Appian BPM.
  • Undertake troubleshooting and problem-solving of software defects, application, and technical environment issues.
  • Develop and execute effective unit and function tests for all software changes.
  • Work with Workflow Consultants to complete software design and estimation activities for complex enhancements.
  • Assist with formulating software solutions that address business requirements, working with Business Consultants, Workflow Consultants, and Technical Consultants.
  • Provide assistance as required to colleagues, including other Developers, Business Analysts/Consultants, and Test Analysts.
  • Undertake software builds and installations, and assist with preparation and delivery of software releases.
  • Understand and follow technical and quality standards and procedures, and suggest and recommend changes to technical standards and procedures.
  • Competently use project and team systems, including JIRA, Confluence, EPM, Lotus Notes, and GIT.
  • Document all work effectively, and undertake and participate in peer reviews.
  • Participate effectively in team and project meetings, and ensure assigned work is completed in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • B.E./B-Tech/MCA degree.
  • 5-8 years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with large/complex software product development.
  • Worked in software development environments with medium to large teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of UML or other structured analysis methods.
  • Experience working within organizations that utilize typical or best-practice software development methods and practices.
