Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Coding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing inpatient medical records and coding diagnoses and procedures accurately.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review patient medical records to code diagnoses and procedures according to ICD-10-CM & ICD-10-PCS standards
  • Assign appropriate MS-DRGs/APR-DRGs based on principal diagnosis, procedures, and secondary conditions
  • Validate DRG grouping using tools like 3M Encoder / TruCode / Optum
  • Maintain compliance with Official Coding Guidelines, CMS rules, and client-specific protocols
  • Collaborate with auditors and QA teams to resolve queries and improve documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful as a Healthcare Coding Specialist, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Paramedical, or Allied Health
  • Certifications: CPC, CCS, or CIC (AAPC / AHIMA)
  • At least 2 years of experience in inpatient coding, with strong DRG coding knowledge
  • Familiarity with hospital EMRs like Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.
