Apache Kafka Administrator Role

This position involves managing and maintaining large-scale Apache Kafka clusters.

Key responsibilities include ensuring the security, availability, scalability, and fault tolerance of Kafka clusters, as well as monitoring performance and collecting metrics to optimize configurations.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Kafka administration, including installation, configuration, and management, as well as expertise in automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.

Required skills and qualifications include a minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, 2.5 years of experience in Kafka administration, and core skills in Kafka Administration, Big Data & Hadoop Ecosystem, Apache Spark, Linux/Unix Systems & Windows Server, Shell/Python scripting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and manage large-scale Kafka clusters
  • Perform upgrades, patches, and disaster recovery planning
  • Ensure security, availability, scalability, and fault tolerance of Kafka clusters
  • Monitor performance, collect metrics, and optimize configurations
  • Automate Kafka cluster installations, topic/ACL/connector deployments
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration
  • Minimum 2.5 years of experience in Kafka administration
  • Core skills: Kafka Administration (Confluent & AWS MSK), Big Data & Hadoop Ecosystem, Apache Spark, Linux/Unix Systems & Windows Server, Shell/Python scripting
  • Good knowledge of automation tools: Ansible, Terraform, GitOps, CI/CD tools: GitLab, Jenkins, Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Atlassian stack: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket (Git)
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with IBM MQ / RabbitMQ
  • Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, ServiceNow
