Senior Structural Engineer Position

This role involves working as a senior structural engineer, leading project work and mentoring junior team members to enhance their skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop feasibility study reports in an agreed format and review them with the local head of structures.
  • Collaborate with the WSP team to assemble a design specification that complies with employer requirements.
  • Agree and monitor the scope of works with the local head of structures.
  • Determine building requirements and purpose of use with the local head of structures and the WSP team to facilitate detailed design.
  • Conduct detailed design according to client requirements, including complex calculations and coordination issues.
  • Review and monitor the production of calculations, including QA and technical reviews.
  • Ensure information for project costing preparation is completed in detail and on time.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents and review input from team members.
  • Lead the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver solutions within the agreed programme.
  • Follow document control and QA processes relevant to project work.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in designing building structures with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.
  • Excellent presentation skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with technical structural software, such as RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project is required.
  • Fluency in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
  • Good management, communication, and technical skills are necessary.

  • British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is desirable.
