Editor Development Position

Create a robust video editing application for mobile devices using Flutter. Develop an MVP that is clean, efficient and reliable.

  • Implement the core video editing features in Flutter:
    • Import videos via file picker or other suitable methods.
    • Display a timeline with thumbnails and a playhead that can be tapped or dragged.
    • Split and delete selected video segments while keeping one segment intact.
    • Preview playback that skips deleted segments.
  • Implement export functionality using FFmpegKit:
    • Export a single segment using -ss and -t options.
    • Export multiple segments by trimming and concatenating them into a single MP4 file.
    • Provide a progress UI, handle errors, and offer post-export actions such as opening or sharing the exported file.
  • Support both Android and iOS platforms by handling platform differences (permissions, storage paths, build settings).
  • Refactor the code into services, state, and UI layers; write a concise README and basic tests to ensure maintainability.
  • Ensure performance by preventing UI freezes on large video files and handle edge cases gracefully.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Production experience with Flutter (async programming, ChangeNotifier or Riverpod)
  • Practical understanding of media pipelines and FFmpeg usage.
  • Platform knowledge for both Android and iOS (permissions, storage, build/signing basics)
  • Clear communication and documentation skills.
