Textile Designer

We are seeking a skilled Textile Designer to join our team. As an Embroidery and Textile Designer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and artistic designs for fabrics and garments.

This role requires a strong understanding of textile manipulation techniques, embroidery, and textures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Development
  • Develop original fabric manipulation techniques, embroidery, and textile designs, including patterns, prints, weaves, and innovative materials.
  • Experiment with color palettes, dyeing techniques, laser techniques, and material mixing to create unique designs.
  • Research fashion, textiles, and consumer trends to stay ahead in the industry.
  • Material Selection
  • Choose suitable fabrics and materials based on design requirements and functionality.
  • Source sustainable or innovative materials when needed.
  • Technical Skills
  • Use design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or CAD to create digital designs.
  • Understand textile production processes, including weaving, knitting, printing, and dyeing.
  • Create technical specifications for manufacturers.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with fashion designers, product developers, and manufacturers to ensure designs align with the overall vision.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to understand target audiences and market trends.
  • Prototyping and Sampling
  • Develop prototypes and samples to test designs.
  • Make adjustments based on feedback and production feasibility.
  • Quality Control
  • Ensure that final textiles meet quality standards and design specifications.
  • Address any issues during production.
  • Sustainability and Innovation
  • Explore eco-friendly materials and sustainable production methods.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and innovations in textile design.
Requirements
  • A strong sense of color, pattern, and texture.
  • The ability to translate ideas into visually appealing designs.
  • Proficiency in textile design software (e.g., Adobe Suite, CAD).
  • An understanding of fabric properties, weaving, knitting, and printing techniques.
  • Precision in creating designs and ensuring quality.
  • A keen eye for fashion and textile trends.
  • The ability to predict and adapt to changing consumer preferences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • A degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field is required.
  • Certifications in CAD or textile technology can be an added advantage.
