Strategic Data Insight Specialist

This role plays a crucial part in establishing and maintaining the company's data infrastructure while delivering insightful analysis through Power BI and Excel.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in SQL, Python, and data pipelines, as well as the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee management and maintenance of data collection tools used by various departments.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, and APIs.
  • Administer and optimize the company's SQL database on Microsoft Azure.
  • Evaluate and ensure high-quality, clean, and well-documented data pipelines and dataflows.
  • Implement and maintain data quality controls.
  • Manage special data projects as the company expands into new areas.
Data Analysis & Insights:
  • Develop and maintain interactive PBI dashboards and automated reporting tools for key stakeholders.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis using SQL, Power BI, Python, and Excel to provide actionable insights that inform decision-making.
  • Present findings and insights to internal teams and external partners in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in data science, computer engineering, statistics, or another quantitative field is required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in SQL development and database administration (Azure SQL preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines (Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, or similar tools).
  • Proficiency with APIs and data integration methods.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, PivotTables, advanced formulas, macros are beneficial).
  • Expertise in Power BI (DAX, data modeling, dashboard/report design).
  • Proficiency in Python for data transformation, automation, and analysis.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of R for advanced analysis.
  • Experience with version control (Git/GitHub/Azure DevOps) and collaborative coding practices.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, such as GDPR compliance.
Language Skills:
  • Written and verbal fluency in English is required, with fluency in French or Spanish being desirable but not essential.
