Database Specialist Role

  • Our ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MySQL enterprise versions, performing upgrades and applying patches.
  • They should be well-versed in migrating from MySQL to MariaDB and vice-versa.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Oracle Enterprise Monitor (OEM) and MySQL Enterprise Monitor (MEM) is required.
  • A strong grasp of MySQL backups and logical backups, including mysqldump/mysqlpump, is necessary.
  • The ability to configure and troubleshoot InnoDB Cluster and Master-Slave replication, as well as MySQL Enterprise Audit and Encryption, is essential.
  • Familiarity with open-source HA tools like keepalived/tungstun is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are needed to resolve MySQL performance issues and collaborate with the team to develop high-performance database functionalities.
  • Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure is highly desirable.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of MariaDB and NoSQL databases would be an added advantage.
  • A good understanding of data management principles, including permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring.
  • Ability to ensure all database programs meet organizational and performance requirements.
  • User management, space management, and shell scripting skills are required.
  • Close coordination and planning with client and project teams is essential.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with foreign clients.
