Job Overview:

As a Site Reliability AI Engineer, you will explore complex IT estates to identify areas for improvement and enhance observability/AIOps opportunities.

You will collaborate to architect unified observability and AIOps strategies that leverage leading AI technology. Your responsibilities will include implementing enterprise observability/AIOps solutions, accelerating outcomes by promoting adoption across technology and business organizations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement observability solutions to address gaps, reducing organizational mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to resolve (MTTR) objectives.
  • Develop API-driven microservices that combine into large and complex platforms, ensuring seamless integration and high-performance capabilities.
  • Plan and execute highly parallel distributed object storage transformations and migrations, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
  • Maintain automated test suites using continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, ensuring robust testing and validation processes.
  • Collaborate with small software engineering teams on various projects, fostering innovation and expertise sharing.
  • Develop automation, processes, and tools designed to simplify and strengthen our services, improving overall quality and reliability.
  • Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning, and analysis activities, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Advise management on service onboarding strategies and execution, ensuring successful implementation and optimization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in architecting complex IT solutions, with a focus on scalability and performance.
  • Understanding of observability dimensions (metrics, logs, traces), with the ability to design and implement effective monitoring and analytics systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Development experience, comfortable working in multiple languages (Python, Java, Go, Ruby), with a strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
  • Experience working in collaborative coding environments (peer review, continuous integration, etc.), with a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
  • 7+ years of application development experience, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Experience working in distributed remote teams across multiple time zones, with a strong ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a virtual environment.
  • Experience in large-scale operations environments, with a strong understanding of system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • 7+ years of experience with Linux/Unix development or systems administration, with a strong understanding of operating system fundamentals and scripting languages.
  • 3+ years of experience with networking systems and technologies, including network protocols, devices, and security measures.
  • Deep understanding of network performance and security, with the ability to design and implement secure and scalable network architectures.
  • Ability to identify tasks which require automation and implement required automation, improving efficiency and productivity.
  • Configuration Management tools experience with Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, ensuring smooth and efficient infrastructure management.
  • Hands-on operational experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment - distributed systems, capacity planning, continuous deployment, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
