Role Title: Network Engineering Manager - SRE
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineering Manager to lead our network transformation initiative. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategies to drive business value through the development and implementation of network tools and solutions. This leader will be responsible for managing a team of high-performing engineers and working closely with cross-functional teams to steer our network vision.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of network engineers to design, implement, and operate complex networking solutions.
- Develop and execute a network roadmap, participating in cross-functional technology teams to drive our network vision.
- Work collaboratively with expert network architects and engineers to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Accountable for driving the delivery and adoption of network practices and operating models across all teams.
- Establish relationships with key stakeholders to define and implement network solutions.
- Manage team performance and provide mentorship for growth and development.
- Drive measurable business value through the development and implementation of network tools and solutions.
- Design, implement, and operationalize network infrastructure and tools.
- Act as a network leader to guide and mentor engineers in building innovative solutions.
Financial Management:
- Responsible for participating in budget and financial management activities.
Cultivate a High-Performing Team:
- Create a compelling vision, clear direction, and strategy for the team.
- Generate enthusiasm and understanding of the department's vision and how each role contributes to its achievement.
- Ensure capabilities are developed and resources are aligned to support the strategy.
- Attract, motivate, develop, and retain highly skilled talent, champion, and model leadership development.
- Create and sustain a work environment that drives associate engagement and enables business success.
- Ensure appropriate processes are in place and executed to drive collaboration and alignment within the team and with the broader IT organization.
Skill and Experience:
- 8-10 years' experience in designing and implementing complex networking solutions with multiple technologies.
- 4+ years' experience in leading and managing technical teams.
- 4+ years of experience with network monitoring tools, APM tools, and packet analyzers.
- 4+ years of experience in building network security tools like Cisco ISE, Firemon, and Forescout.
- Experience in implementing security tools NAC (Forescout), Cisco ISE, and Firemon.
- Experience in implementing network monitoring tools.
- Experience in implementing DDI solutions.
- Using network SRE tools to manage network devices (Cisco, HP, Checkpoint, PaloAlto, etc).
- Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of bigger and smaller bets across the team, while balancing short-term goals and long-term vision.
- Experience in network operations team.
- Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success.
- Ability to build strong relationships and network throughout the broader IT community.
- Experience in the design, implementation, and operational support of mission-critical products.
- Strong influencing skills and an ability to overcome barriers while driving change.
- Experience in researching emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products.
- Experience in developing technology roadmaps and strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and IT teams.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities.
- Experience operating in Scaled Agile Framework.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field experience/certification.
- Certification in network and/or security technologies (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, CISSP, Cisco DevNet, etc.).
Work location: Hyderabad, India.
Work mode: Hybrid
We estimate the salary for this position to be around ₹20 lakhs per annum, considering the required skills and qualifications, as well as the location in Hyderabad, India.
