Job Overview:

The QA Automation Engineer plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of financial technology by ensuring our software systems meet functional and technical requirements, thus guaranteeing seamless performance across various platforms.

  • Test new system software versions using automated testing tools, including functional, user acceptance testing (UAT), performance, and regression testing on trading and financial applications to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Create, maintain, and update test cases and regression scripts based on business requirements to facilitate efficient development processes.
  • Report and manage software issues and test activities throughout the software development lifecycle to optimize project outcomes.
  • Attend project meetings to discuss issues and report on the status of testing to foster collaboration among team members.
  • Follow QA standards and policies to ensure consistency and reliability in testing procedures.
  • Provide estimates to help QA management produce an accurate schedule to enhance productivity.
  • Support Product Management group in testing various business scenarios and verifying functionality to be implemented to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Release management - maintenance of application versions and facilitation of version upgrades in all environments to ensure smooth transition and minimal disruption.
Technical Competencies:
  • Proficient in OpenText Unified Functional Testing (UFT) to leverage its capabilities in automation testing.
  • Experience with bug tracking software (e.g. Jira) and Test Case Management Tools to streamline issue resolution and improve overall quality.
  • Ability to create new test cases based on requirements documents and guidance from the Product and Development teams to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Translate existing manual regression test cases into automated UFT tests to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
  • Knowledge of and experience with financial products, e.g. FX, Rates, Credit, Commodities, etc… to understand the complexities of the industry and develop effective solutions.
  • Programming languages such as Java, C#, C++ are a plus to enhance versatility and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in science and/or engineering to provide a solid foundation in mathematical and scientific principles.
  • 3+ years of general Quality Assurance experience with multi-tiered complex trading and/or risk management systems in the financial industry to demonstrate expertise and depth of knowledge.
  • 2+ years of experience working with UFT to showcase proficiency and ability to apply it effectively in real-world scenarios.
