Job Description

As a Construction Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in preparing capital cost estimates and providing advice on building economics. You will be responsible for drafting contract packages, including amendments to standard forms, and preparing pricing documents for tender packages.

  • Prepare comprehensive capital cost estimates
  • Offer expert advice on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements
  • Draft sophisticated contract packages, including amendments to standard forms
  • Prepare detailed pricing documents for tender packages
  • Provide guidance on tendering procedures
  • Draft instructions to tenderers
  • Develop robust tender evaluation criteria
  • Draft PQQ questionnaires
  • Commercially evaluate all tender submissions and negotiate with tenderers
  • Ascertain amounts due to contractors for price variations
  • Determine the validity of claims
  • Prepare and submit monthly Cost Reports
Requirements:
  • Chartered QS under a recognized organization
  • Strong understanding of QS & cost management processes
  • IT literacy and proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure
  • Ability to coordinate with other staff and departments
  • Organized self-starter with attention to detail and ability to work independently

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. A strong understanding of QS and cost management processes is essential, as well as IT literacy and proficiency with MS Office.
