About the Role

As a Financial Controller at Carrier, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance processes, including controllership, manufacturing finance, treasury, insurance, and tax. You will also serve as the Senior Accounting Officer, responsible for filings, HMRC contacts, and GST returns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Controllership: Order-to-cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, statutory reporting, monthly closing, pension accounting, etc.
  • Manufacturing Finance: Site Ops KPIs, Cost accounting, GL Close Process, Excess & Obsolete
  • Treasury: banking relationships and bank balances
  • Insurance: local managed policies, co-ordination on global policies
  • Tax: tax compliance, tax planning, transfer pricing, local filings, tax accounting & reporting, financial risk management, corporate income tax, etc.
  • Senior Accounting Officer: filings, HMRC contacts, GST returns, etc.
  • Manage exports, Imports and regulatory compliance
  • Liaise with FP&A team to provide inputs into planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Liaise with Company secretary and labor laws consultants and ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for managing the transition of Kidde Fenwal finance processes from Carrier to a standalone company, establishing a newly formed accounting services team supporting both Indian and Global operations
  • Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
  • Monitor and confirm financial condition by managing audits and providing information to external auditors
  • Support financial systems implementation
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting
  • Provide timely monthly management reporting for India operations, including support of variance analysis and rolling financial forecast in partnership with the Financial Analyst and operations leaders
  • Support the annual budgeting process for India operations in partnership with the Financial Analyst and operations leaders by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans
  • Provide insights and recommendations to India leadership for informed decision-making
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendation
  • Ensure compliance with India financial regulations and proactively manage financial risks

Requirements

Chartered accountancy qualification, familiarity and experience with India GAAP and reporting requirements, experience in manufacturing accounting, analytical, numerical and problem solving skills, ability to work and deliver within tight timelines, proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably within a global business with operations based in India
