System Reliability Specialist Job Overview

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced System Reliability Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of our systems and applications.

Your primary focus will be on executing incident, change management, and problem management processes to prevent and minimize service interruptions.

  • Incident Management: Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
  • Change Management: Plan, implement, and test changes to systems and applications to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Problem Management: Analyze and resolve underlying issues causing recurring problems, implementing long-term solutions to prevent future incidents.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain resilient systems and applications. Your expertise will be crucial in evaluating platform performance and availability, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing automation to streamline tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute incident, change management, and problem management processes to ensure system reliability.
  • Design and develop resiliency in application code, troubleshoot incidents, and engage with squads to address failure patterns.
  • Monitor, manage, and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
  • Identify gaps in monitoring or documentation and collaborate with relevant teams to fill those gaps.
  • Implement changes to platforms with minimal impact to the business by following enterprise standards and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of system reliability engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with incident, change, and problem management processes.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing resilient application code.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
