The Opportunity

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a key role in guiding the development of reporting standards and methodologies within our team and across the organization. Your responsibilities will include designing and advancing our approach to data as a product, crafting compelling narratives using data, ensuring seamless integration across various systems, and maintaining high standards of data privacy, quality, and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level guidance, development, and mentoring for DAT's Business Intelligence practice
  • Develop reports on platforms such as Tableau, Snowsight, Business Objects, and AWS Quicksight
  • Develop reporting components to be utilized via API calls
  • Knowledge of AWS, specifically Quicksight
  • Equip DAT teams to self-serve and develop, document, and communicate methods and processes
  • General DW modeling knowledge, including Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault, and concepts such as Data Mesh
  • Provide solutions for complex business problems, enabling insights that empower better decision-making
  • Take an active role in fostering a culture of learning and excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Expertise in Business Intelligence Reporting Tools, including proficiency in developing reports using platforms like Tableau, Snowsight, Business Objects, and AWS Quicksight
  • Advanced Reporting Techniques, including experience in developing reporting components accessible via API calls
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS and Snowflake, including aspects like modeling, performance optimization, Data Clustering, and Micro-partitions
  • Technical aptitude with SQL, DBT, ETL tools such as Matillion, Alteryx, and CI/CD experience
  • Process Development and Documentation, including skills in developing, documenting, and communicating methods and processes for Business Intelligence
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills, including the ability to provide solutions for complex business problems and enable insights that drive better decision-making
