Are you looking for a challenging career opportunity in chemistry research? This role involves creating chemistry problems, analyzing model responses, and identifying gaps in logic or understanding. You will be working with large language models (LLMs) to test their reasoning capabilities.

The day-to-day tasks will include creating chemistry problems, reviewing how the AI solves them, and sharing insights on how well it understands complex reasoning and logical steps. This may involve:

  • A coal gasifier operating at high temperature uses a feed of steam and air to produce synthesis gas from pure carbon. Given the feed composition and operating conditions, calculate the equilibrium concentration of a specific gas in the output stream at 1000 K.
  • Two elementary gas-phase reactions occur in a plug flow reactor with stoichiometric feed and known operating and coolant conditions. Develop a reactor model to estimate the maximum temperature reached, assuming constant external coolant temperature.

To be eligible for this role, you should have a strong research background in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or a related field. A Ph.D. or postdoctoral experience is required. You should also have strong analytical skills, able to provide clear, constructive feedback with examples, and comfortable working independently.

This position requires a minimum time commitment of 4 hours per day and 20 hours per week. The contract duration is 1 month with possible extension based on performance.
