Job Description

This role involves working closely with the reinsurance community to develop and maintain a comprehensive data analytics solution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and running standard reports, automating their generation and distribution, and developing new innovative management information using Excel, Qlik Sense, and VBA.

They will also review management information created by other people across the Reinsurance segment and support product management within the reinsurance operations.

Additionally, they will take responsibility for checking that the reinsurance data is correct, set up a process for regular data checks, investigate any potential issues, and take appropriate actions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, as well as good working knowledge of SQL.

Experience with Python programming language is desirable but not mandatory.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create and run standard reports while looking to automate their generation and distribution.
  • Develop new innovative management information using Excel, Qlik Sense, and VBA.
  • Review management information created by other people across the Reinsurance segment.
  • Support product management within the reinsurance operations, working with people from across the reinsurance segment to determine how to best measure risk and profitability for various lines of business and how to construct and manage portfolios accordingly.
  • Take responsibility for checking that the reinsurance data is correct. Set up a process for regular data checks, investigate any potential issues, and take appropriate actions.
  • Take ownership of mappings, ensuring any new mapping required is added in a timely manner.
  • Understand and explain data, assisting the reinsurance community with any questions regarding how to access required data, data definitions, and the source of data.
  • Assist with complex data needs, sourcing the appropriate data from multiple reinsurance systems.
  • Test any new developments to the Reinsurance Analytics project before they are released.
  • Be involved in deciding the direction of new developments for the Reinsurance Analytics project.
  • Provide training and support on the Reinsurance Analytics tools for a broad user base across multiple regions and functions, including underwriting, actuarial, and senior management.
  • You will report to the Lead, Corporate Actuarial.
