Payroll Accounting Lead

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee payroll accounting processes. This includes ensuring the accuracy of various payroll areas such as bonus, pension, severance, and stock-based compensation.

About the role:

  • Regularly review financial statements to identify potential exposures and resolve issues.
  • Support the integration of payroll accounting systems for newly acquired entities and divestitures.
  • Collaborate with IT and other functions to understand changes in systems and their impact on accounting.
  • Provide guidance and support to general accounting teams on payroll-related queries.
  • Familiarity with statutory reporting, IFRS, and local GAAP is required.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives around processes, system enhancements, and reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain a strong internal controls environment, including policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, with a professional qualification such as CA or CMA.
  • At least 7 years of post-qualification experience, with 3 years at a manager level.
  • Experience in finance accounting and global payroll systems is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Power BI.
  • Experience with SAP and associated reporting tools is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
  • Experience in change management and process improvement.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership.
