Automation Engineer Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our automation group, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated regression suites and test harnesses that meet organization standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality automated regression suites and test harnesses using Python.
  • Identify areas/test cases for automation and design/implement test automation strategies.
  • Create tools and frameworks with quality code to simplify testing scenarios.
  • Develop test plans and test cases based on functional and design specifications, execute test cases, and analyze/report test results.
  • Collaborate with development teams to deliver business functionality on time with required quality.
  • Lead the work of other testing staff, assign tasks, and ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Design and develop Test cases and Test Automation suites using Python.
  • Use strong testing skills to provide guidance and assist project staff.
  • Review and approve the work of project team members in script writing, expected results, test results, and defect descriptions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Software testing experience in all phases of testing, including test planning, execution, and closure.
  • Excellent understanding of QA and testing methodologies, best practices.
  • At least 6 years of experience as an Automation QA Tester.
  • Must have skills in Python for test automation.
  • Experience working with SOAP and REST services and understanding of SOA architecture.
  • Experience creating and maintaining automation frameworks preferred.
  • Experience using SQL to query databases required.
  • Exposure to distributed source control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with test data management techniques.
  • Experience with change management and defect tracking tools.
  • Strong English proficiency level (B2) is required.
